Frequently Asked Questions

The Standard states samplers have to be accredited. How can we comply? There are no courses.

There is a lead in time for you to be able to get qualified or accredited. NZQA Unit Standards need to be developed and this could take up to a year or more. In the meantime best practice needs to be followed and work towards compliance

Also, there may be a “How To” guide or support document developed on how to use the Standard. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) are being compiled and added to the Standards NZ website.

If a field composite comes up as 1.5μg is the property a hazardous site?

Care should be taken as a field composite is an accumulation so further sampling and testing needs to be done in order to know that definitively. A screening assessment can only determine presence or absence and attempt to determine risk levels.
